



Collision Dynamics offers on-site seminars for interested
parties in the legal and insurance industries. The seminars
are approximately one hour in length and each are designed
to help the professional achieve their goals of continuing
eduction. For lawyers, each seminar is eligible for one CLE
in the state of Arizona.
The seminars currently available are:
Black Boxes – The Myth vs. The Reality
DESCRIPTION: This presentation will demonstrate the role of
the black box in accident investigation, the benefits and
limitations of the available data, and which vehicles
currently provide data that can be obtained by non-OEM
personnel. Additionally, pending legislation and issues
involving data ownership will be discussed.
Computer Software in Accident Reconstruction
DESCRIPTION: This presentation will discuss and
demonstrate the types of software commonly used by the
accident reconstructionist and how that software can and/or
cannot support your case. Additional discussion items
include what information is required to build a computer
simulation, what assumptions are typically required,
analyzing the work of opposing experts, and preparing a
simulation video for trial. A brief overview of the validation
process most reconstruction programs have gone through
can also be discussed, as well as the program limitations.
Accident Reconstruction – Process Review
DESCRIPTION: This presentation provides a detailed look at
how your expert typically works with the client to handle the
case from start to finish. From the initial case review to trial,
this presentation will help the client understand some of the
work required for an expert to complete their reconstruction
in the manner most cost effective to the client. Additionally,
an overview of available research data will be discussed
and how that data is used to support the reconstruction
process.
Seat Belts and Air Bags – Past, Current, and Future Trends
DESCRIPTION: This presentation will demonstrate to the
client the information necessary to understand the role of
seat belts and air bags in preventing or minimizing injury to
an occupant involved in a variety of motor vehicle
accidents. Learning how the systems have evolved since
the late 80’s and early 90’s allows the professional to gain a
stronger understanding of the large range of potential
issues with current cases. This presentation will also give
an overview of the role of the seat as an integral part of the
restraint system and its role in protecting the occupant.
Understanding Rollover
DESCRIPTION: This presentation will discuss the basics of
vehicle rollover dynamics and what is required for the
expert to analyze the motions of the vehicle and/or
occupants. Key items discussed in the presentation include
vehicle damage, vehicle inspection, scene inspection,
occupant motion and injuries. The types of rollovers
encountered and federal regulations regarding rollover and
roof crush are also discussed.
